Islanders fan makes $1,000 shot from center ice in ‘electric’ moment

If only this fan was working overtime and on the ice.

Diehard Islanders fan Sean Umhafer went viral by getting a lifelong shot from Center Ice as he scored a $1,000 ticket-master voucher in a 2-1 Oilers defeat to the Oilers on Friday night.

“All dollars will probably be sent to more islanders' tickets,” Umifer, who scored a golden goal in a fully covered net with the exception of three Teen Sea Award slots, told the Post.

“It was electricity,” he added, going to five holes and making a jackpot in the smallest box.

Umhafer, a 29-year-old Legal Tech salesman from Massapequa Park, has played in three men's leagues and has played games at UBS Arena Ice in the past, making him unfamiliar with hockey.

However, on Friday night there was a fateful touch that led him to glory between the second and third periods.

“My friend and I took the train earlier than we normally would,” Umifer said. “We were wandering around in the arena bar, and a woman from our team came to us and asked, 'Is there anyone playing hockey?” ”

So, all eyes were in front of the recreation, as the crowd (15,879) admitted to being a little bigger than his last match at Belmont.

“I kept thinking, I play three nights a week,” said Umhafer, a former season ticket holder. “I should at least get closer.”

His first attempt led fans to slide the right side of the net as the islanders had already dropped 1-0 at the time – ruled. They were so loud that I could hear it in a video filmed by Umihafer's friend Brett Ansbacher.

On his defense, the veteran hockey player had to use an oversized stick with his chest thrusts in.

Sensing “nervous” and tension, the islander's official speech announcer, Andrew Sikora, handed Umhafer golden advice before filming again.

“He said, 'take his time.' “Then I said, 'You know what, I'm going to take the time – I'm going to take a moment and play a little with the pack.”

The magic then took place as the island was faithfully roake for its first home goal of the night.

The viral moments were then picked up on hockey social media Main pages like Bardown and Islanders' own Instagram.

“At this point, I did the normal Cellie that I do after scoring in the men's league,” he said of falling to one side and spitting his fist into the surprised crowd.

However, this time Umhafer pulled out his sunglasses and looked “cool, calm and collected” to the camera.

“You have to act like you've been here before,” he said. “My glasses were the cherry blossoms above.”
