Israel Claims Greta Thunberg's ‘Freedom Flotilla’ Is Directly Connected to Hamas

Hamas Documents Reveal Ties to Gaza Flotilla

Recent documents found by Israeli forces indicate that terrorist groups have a direct role in the Gaza-bound flotilla featuring climate activist Greta Samberg from the Israeli Foreign Ministry. These documents point to a “direct link” between the flotilla’s leaders and Hamas, specifically its foreign arm, the Palestinian Conference (PCPA) Overseas Palestine mission.

The flotilla, named Global SUMUD FLOTILLA, consists of numerous boats carrying hundreds of participants. They aim to protest Israel’s blockade of Gaza and are expected to be intercepted by the Israeli Navy in the coming days.

Established in 2018, the PCPA serves as Hamas’s overseas representation and functions similarly to an embassy. According to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is instrumental in organizing actions against Israel, which include protests and demonstrations.

Among the documents retrieved is a letter from Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, dated 2021, endorsing the PCPA and urging unity. This organization was designated a terrorist entity by Israel that same year.

Another document found at a Hamas base includes a list of PCPA members, which features Zaher Birawi, head of the UK Hamas sector, alongside Saif Abu Kashk, a longstanding flotilla organizer from Spain. Kashk claims that the Israeli Foreign Ministry has ownership interests in many of the flotilla’s ships.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry suggests that Kashk’s involvement implies that the flotilla is “secretly owned by Hamas.” They have released images of flotilla activists, including Samberg and Birawi.

As of now, the Global Sumud Flotilla has not responded to inquiries from reporters. Attempts to reach Birawi and Kashk have also been unsuccessful.

It’s worth noting that Samberg previously tried to reach Gaza in June, but her boat was intercepted by the Israeli Defense Forces, who detained her and subsequently deported her.
