The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continued to advance against Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon on Thursday and Friday, eradicating outposts and carrying out airstrikes on terrorist leaders.
In an airstrike in Beirut on Thursday, the IDF targeted Hezbollah's Hashim Safi al-Din, the alleged successor to Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed last week.
In other advances, the IDF fought Hezbollah guerrillas in southern Lebanon, killing hundreds.
The IDF said in a statement that it had killed 250 Hezbollah terrorists, including 20 commanders, in four days of fighting.
Earlier this week (Monday), Israeli Defense Forces units launched a limited, localized and targeted ground raid based on accurate intelligence in southern Lebanon.
With fire and intelligence support from the divisions and Northern Corps, five battalion commanders, ten company commanders, and six platoon commanders were eliminated.
Units from the 98th Division were the first to launch targeted raids earlier this week, followed by units from the 36th Division.
The military is conducting brigade-level operations that combine air operations with support from tanks and artillery. As part of the operation, IDF forces are eliminating terrorists set up in buildings and positions near the border. The military also discovered and destroyed weapons depots, ready-to-fire rocket launchers, and abandoned Hezbollah explosives.
The Israeli Air Force constantly supports forces, including pre-emptive strikes against military targets in operations, as part of raids to neutralize threats in the region.
To date, approximately 250 terrorists have been eliminated from the air and on the ground, and more than 2,000 military targets have been attacked, including terrorists, terrorist infrastructure, military buildings, weapons warehouses, launchers, etc.
A total of nine IDF deaths have so far been reported in Lebanon.
Additionally, the Israel Defense Forces said it had hit a 3.5-kilometre tunnel under the Syria-Lebanon border that was used to supply Hezbollah with weapons from Iran.
