The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that Israel conducted airstrikes targeting Houthi positions following an attack near Tel Aviv. A statement from the IDF mentioned that the Israeli Air Force targeted locations associated with the Houthi regime along Yemen’s coastline.
This attack was described as a response to ongoing assaults by the Houthi rebels on Israel, during which missiles and drones were directed at both Israeli land and its citizens. In fact, a missile launched by Houthi forces reportedly landed close to the main terminal of an airport near Tel Aviv over the weekend, injuring eight individuals, as reported by local media.
Following this incident, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took to social media platform X to emphasize that Israel would retaliate against Iranian-backed attacks, particularly at critical airport locations, and that they would choose the timing and method of the response.
As part of the operation, a significant port facility used by the Houthis, which is seen as a key logistical element, was struck. The IDF noted that this facility had become an essential economic resource for the group.
The military stated that the airstrike would further diminish the Houthis’ military and economic potential.
