Israeli Hostage Posters at Harvard Vandalized with Antisemitic Messages

A poster of Israeli hostages on Harvard University's campus has been vandalized along with an anti-Semitic message. The incident became the latest incident of anti-Semitism at the Ivy League school.

A Harvard University student returned from winter break to find anti-Semitic messages on posters posted all over campus. report By CNN.

“The university strongly condemns the senseless and horrific act of vandalism on Harvard's campus by posters bearing the faces of Israeli hostages,” a Harvard spokesperson told the outlet. Harvard University Police are reportedly investigating the incident.

Footage of the poster shared with CNN showed multiple flyers with the words “Israel did 9/11” scrawled on them. Another post said a 4-year-old Israeli hostage had been defiled. The third hostage poster had the words “LIES FAKE” written on it.

The vandalized poster was reportedly found outside Holworthy Hall, a first-year residence hall.

Harvard student Alexander Kestenbaum, one of the plaintiffs in a recent lawsuit against the university over anti-Semitism, told university officials about a defaced poster found on campus Sunday night. , according to an email the student shared with CNN.

Harvard University's Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (OEDIB) responded to Kestenbaum via email on Monday, telling students that officials are looking into the matter.

A Harvard University spokesperson told CNN there is currently “no indication” whether the attacker was a student or an outsider visiting campus.
