The issues surrounding Vice President Kamala Harris, President Joe Biden’s pick to succeed him in the 2024 presidential election, have nothing to do with “race or gender,” despite reports in left-leaning media, said Caroline Leavitt, a national spokeswoman for the Trump campaign. Asked how the Trump campaign would address claims from the left that voting against Harris is inherently racist or sexist, Leavitt dismissed those claims as nonsense.
“This is a load of nonsense that has been circulated by the mainstream media over the past few weeks, and I have no confidence that the American people will believe it,” she predicted, explaining that opposing Harris “has nothing to do with race or gender.”
“It’s all about competence, and Kamala Harris has proven to be just as incompetent as Joe Biden,” Leavitt said, explaining that Harris supports all of Biden’s “disastrous” policies.
“A wide-open southern border, a weak foreign policy that led to war in Ukraine and empowered Iranian-backed terrorists in the Middle East to attack Israel,” she began, noting that Harris also “supported every single one of Joe Biden’s terrible economic policies that have created the worst inflation crisis in a generation.”

She also said Harris must explain her “dangerously liberal record as a senator from deeply liberal California,” a reference to GovTrack’s ranking of Harris as the most liberal senator in 2019, a ranking the website then conveniently removed, saying the data was “insufficient to paint a reliable portrait of a member’s work.”
“We will make sure every voter knows where Kamala Harris stands on these issues. She is more left than Bernie Sanders. She is dangerously liberal. We cannot trust her with leadership in the Oval Office. Our goal in the 101 days between now and Election Day is to make sure every voter knows what a radical liberal Kamala Harris is,” she said, adding that the Trump campaign is “more confident than ever” that “if we get this message to voters across America, President Trump will win.”
She continued that efforts by the mainstream media to portray Harris as a “moderate Democrat” are simply untrue, emphasizing that Harris has “enabled” and supported all of Biden’s policies at the border and has overseen “the worst immigration crisis in the history of our country.”
“Harris and Biden have accepted more than 11 million illegal immigrants from across this country, known terrorist criminals who have committed heinous crimes in our communities, murdered and raped women in states across the country and committed many other heinous crimes,” Leavitt said, reminding the audience that Harris “proudly said she was the last person in the room when Joe Biden led the disastrous and inexcusable withdrawal from Afghanistan in which 13 soldiers were killed.”
“She supports Harris’ decision and says she is proud of the withdrawal. There is nothing to be proud of. We lost brave men and women, and now, of course, Afghanistan is once again a hotbed of terrorism. The Taliban are marching in our military equipment and our soldiers’ uniforms. This is disgraceful, and Kamala Harris is proud of it,” she said. “For that reason alone, she does not deserve a single vote from the American people. She has zero foreign policy experience, she is also dangerously liberal, and there is no doubt that America would be a more dangerous place if she were allowed to serve four years in office.”
