On CNN International’s “First Move” broadcast on Wednesday, Hawaii Gov. Josh Green (D) said President Joe Biden has “served public service longer than anyone else,” so it would be “wrong to not trust his judgment and that of those around him” about whether he is fit to serve and whether he should remain in the 2024 presidential race.
“So,” said host Paula Newton. [on] “What can you offer on this call in the next hour in terms of what Democrats are telling you in your state, whether it’s donors, rank-and-file voters, or people who are concerned about lower-level elections?”
Greene responded: “I can tell them, ‘This is a gentleman who has served this country for 50 years, been a public servant longer than anyone else, and it would be wrong to not trust his judgment or the judgment of those around him. I know that everyone has an opinion, whether it’s in a coffee shop, in their family, in a governors’ meeting, and that’s appropriate. Everyone should have an opinion, but we trust this gentleman, and he has to make that decision with his aides.'”
