‘It Makes Me Sick!’: Mariah Carey Goes On Wild Rant That Really Lets Out Her Inner Diva

Mariah Carey may seem like a diva at times, but she really solidified that status on Wednesday’s upcoming episode of Las Culturistas podcast.

The “I Don’t Think So Honey” segment of the podcast showcased quite possibly one of Carey’s most pretentious guest appearances yet. She went on a wild rant about how much she hates overhead lighting, and then complained specifically about how deeply affected she is by lighting in public places — you know, in case she happens to walk through there. It’s all about appearances for the famous singer, who probably just knows she looks super shitty unless she’s perfectly backlit by professionals.

If ever there was a diva moment, this is it. It’s no real secret that Carey spends lots of time with a glam team that makes her look “just right,” but this just went to a whole other level.

She’s so worried about how she looks that she vented about the “hideous” lighting she experiences in public spaces, saying that it makes her “sick.”

“I don’t think so, honey. Listen, I can’t with the overhead lighting,” Carey said.

She went on to declare her extreme suffering in the most selfish, tone-deaf statement.

“Why do they do it to us? Why? And I shouldn’t even say us, because it’s not us, it’s me,” Carey said.

“I’m the one [who] gets the most tortured by the hideous lighting in every elevator, doorway, gyms — not that I go to the gym — but I’m just saying … it’s hideous lighting!” she said.

Tortured? With all that’s going on in the world that surrounds her, this is Carey’s most tortured state?

She continued to show her lack of perspective and total self-indulgence as she talked about how she felt about the sun.

“The sun is okay if it’s at sunset, and then I will gladly go outside and put a little hat on or whatever and that’ll be pretty because the sunlight caress[es] your skin,” Carey said.

“But it’s bad for you, so you gotta be careful with that.”

“But overhead lighting, I don’t think so, honey,” she said.

The famous singer ended the clip with a desperate plea.

“Please stop it! Every place I go — shut the lights! Turn them [off]. I don’t wanna see them no more!” she said.

When asked for her final thoughts, Carey said, “One more thing on overhead lighting, it makes me sick.” (RELATED: ‘How Do I Disappear?’: Mariah Carey Describes Deep Emotional Struggle Amid Her Successful Career)

The best part of the interview was knowing that it would have to end eventually.

I wonder what kind of lighting demands she made before her appearance.
