Italian Paper Reports on Videos of Joe Biden’s Declining Health, ‘Rigid Movements’

Italian maximum The newspaper reported on the bizarre incident that occurred while President Joe Biden was meeting with world leaders at the G7 summit in Italy on Thursday.

Corriere della Sera, a Melon newspaper that has been published since the 1880s, reported that Thursday’s episode showed Biden walking into the distance in front of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Rotated It brought him back to the group of world leaders watching a skydiving show.

The video has gone viral on social media platforms and appears to have attracted the attention of international media.

Viviana Mazza of Corriere della Sera report Scene from the article “Video of Biden and his stiff movements. How is the President?”:

A video has gone viral of Biden briefly stepping aside as G7 leaders watch the Folgore Brigade paratroopers perform, with Giorgia Meloni looking back and touching his arm. Critics have described it as a “distracted” and “wandering around,” but supporters have pointed out that Biden actually just turned around to compliment one of the paratroopers.

Questions about the age of the 81-year-old president, worn down between international commitments and campaigning, are nothing new to Americans. In a rare interview with Biden for Time magazine last month, the writer noted following the president into the Oval Office that “his stiff gait, muffled voice and shaky grammar are at odds with the enthusiastic, talkative appearance he had as a senator and vice president.” The Trump campaign has been pretty vocal on this point. A video also went viral of President Biden on the anniversary of the Normandy landings, appearing to try to sit in a chair that wasn’t there, but as the Associated Press pointed out, it was distorted because it was only partial footage. In the full footage, the US president turns around, finds his chair, pauses for a moment, then slowly sits down. In other scenes, such as the Juneteenth ceremony at the White House a few days ago, Biden is seen smiling but motionless, looking a bit out of place while everyone around him dances.

In an article published by The Wall Street Journal Over the past few days, Republican lawmakers have anonymously shared anecdotes about the 81-year-old US president’s “slowness” and “ease of giving in” during closed-door meetings where they discussed issues such as Ukraine funds and the debt ceiling. During one such meeting in January, the US president “spoke in a voice so hoarse that some people found it difficult to hear, was silent for long periods, and closed his eyes for long periods that made people wonder if he was still in tune,” the authors wrote. Biden’s spokesman Andrew Bates characterized the Republicans’ comments as “politically motivated,” saying that foreign leaders, experts, and even his fellow Republicans in Congress recognize Biden as a “skilled leader” and that if he happens to retell the same story, he has always done so since before he turned 81.

The British tabloid newspaper The Sun also reported on the incident. according to A diplomatic source quoted by The Sun said Biden was “losing focus” during the summit.

One person told The Sun: “It’s the worst thing he’s ever done.”

Another official added that while the president had moments of acuity and clarity during the meeting, he appeared to “lose focus” at other times.

Other attendees from several delegations also described Biden’s performance as “embarrassing.”

A Harvard-Harris poll conducted in December found that about a third of Democrats have doubts about Biden’s mental health, and another poll found that 82% of Americans are concerned about Biden’s physical and mental health.
