For quite some time now, there’s been a growing concern about America’s financial health. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) really needs some immediate reforms, and it’s encouraging to see President Trump assembling strong teams to address this. Dr. EJ Antoni is stepping in to restore trust and integrity within the institutions that report on our economy. The BLS, which is renowned for its monthly employment reports, must serve as a dependable source of labor data, both for Americans and global partners.
One significant concern is the frequent revisions that BLS employment and economic reports undergo. We’ve witnessed not just one but two major historical revisions that inflate job growth numbers under former President Biden while revising downward those under Trump. Such misleading figures, along with inaccurate information, jeopardize the credibility of the bureau, which is simply not acceptable.
Americans deserve better than incomplete or erroneous statistics. Families and business owners need precise data to make informed financial choices.

If our labor statistics aren’t reliable, how can businesses, communities, and lawmakers make sound decisions? The data collection process here appears outdated, not having undergone any significant changes for decades.
Antoni has been instrumental in modernizing the Bureau of Labor Statistics. We genuinely need people like him to transform how the bureau gathers information and conducts research, enhancing transparency and accountability. BLS reform is just one of the ways the Trump administration is supporting American businesses and workers. Since the start of his second term, we’ve witnessed significant job creation, with over 500,000 new positions added in the private sector. The economy is thriving, especially with his trade deals bringing jobs back to the U.S. Moreover, Senate Republicans have backed the recent passing of the Working Families Tax Cuts Bill, which includes historic tax credits for working-class families, no taxes on tips, and overtime salaries.
The Senate has encountered its share of confirmation challenges from day one, particularly with the Marco Rubio and Secretary Pete Hegseth situation. It’s disheartening to see the unprecedented level of obstruction from Senate Democrats regarding presidential nominations. I find this madness quite troubling. The president should have the right to choose his team and advisors. Despite the unreasonable roadblocks from some Democrats, we are on track to confirm Dr. EJ Antoni and our other candidates. Senate Republicans will likely change the rules to prevent future presidents from facing similar nonsense.
As the economy keeps thriving under Trump’s leadership, the Republican-led Senate plays a crucial role in confirming leaders for the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It’s high time the BLS gets back on track and serves the American business community effectively once again.
