President Donald Trump has made it clear that Iran will not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. With Israel taking action, it’s time for Trump to follow through and address the threat from Iran decisively.
If Iran doesn’t fully abandon its nuclear ambitions—quickly and with verification—Trump should act promptly, utilizing America’s powerful military capabilities.
Israel has already taken significant steps against Iran, targeting locations like Natanz and Isfahan, which is the largest uranium enrichment facility. They’ve also eliminated several key nuclear scientists and military leaders in Iran’s regime.
However, the Fordow facility, located deep within the mountains, still remains untouched. The Israeli Air Force currently lacks the necessary heavy bunker-buster bombs to dismantle it effectively.
Perhaps a series of smaller strikes could make a difference, but that could escalate hostilities and lead to unnecessary suffering for both nations to achieve what Trump deems essential.
Reports suggest Tehran is considering resuming nuclear negotiations, particularly regarding the U.S. role in this conflict.
However, Iran seems to have brushed off Trump’s 60-day ultimatum, treating it lightly. Any future agreement must demand the handover of all concentrated uranium and complete demolition of nuclear sites and research facilities.
Moreover, inspectors need unrestricted access to ensure Iran cannot restart its nuclear endeavors.
Without these conditions, discussions may simply be a tactic to buy more time or manipulate the situation.
Using bunker-busters carries inherent risks, but Israel has already demonstrated a capability to manage threats from Tehran and its major allies.
When considering national interests, Trump has shown strong commitment. He emphasized that if Iran possesses nuclear weapons, peace is unattainable.
Additionally, alarmist warnings about potential American casualties if Israel confronts Iran have proven to be exaggerated.
By neutralizing the nuclear threat posed by Iran, an important message is sent not only to Iran but also to powers like Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping. They should heed Trump’s statements seriously, without underestimating the implications.
