"I've Had Enough, Thank You Dear": Trump Exits NBC Interview

Trump’s Wisconsin Trip Sparks Debate on Energy Prices and Election Integrity

During a recent visit to Wisconsin, President Trump had a lively exchange with “Meet the Press” host Kristen Welker before wrapping up the interview. The discussion, aired on Fox 6 Milwaukee, touched on agriculture and economic policy against the backdrop of inclement weather.

As they spoke, they ventured into the implications of the ongoing tension with Iran and the slow counting of votes in California’s primary election. Welker noted the rising prices of gasoline and diesel, emphasizing the impact since the recent military action. Trump’s response was focused on an optimistic outlook: “When the war ends, everything ends.”

Welker raised concerns from farmers, stating that around 70 percent are struggling with the rising costs of fertilizer. That discomfort was almost palpable, as the rain pelted the roof overhead during their discussion. She asked, “What’s your message to farmers who support you but are facing these challenges?” Trump responded affirmatively, highlighting his past financial aid to farmers, claiming, “I gave $28 billion to farmers because China took advantage of it. I love farmers. Farmers trust me.”

Energy costs continue to loom large over economic conversations. Notably, about half of the world’s production of certain fertilizers, crucial for agriculture, moves through critical shipping lanes like the Strait of Hormuz. Additionally, Saudi Arabia is a significant supplier of phosphates to the U.S.

As of the most recent data, gasoline prices averaged $4.174 per gallon, a marked increase from $2.98 just before military operations against Iran began, although slightly lower than earlier peaks this year. Diesel prices, critical for farmers and transport, have seen a similar trend, averaging $5.341 a gallon now, down from $5.622 earlier.

The interview also delved into allegations of fraud in the California primary, particularly concerning delays that seemed to favor certain candidates. Trump made strong assertions, declaring, “The election was rigged… and now it’s being rigged again in California.” He expressed frustration over the ongoing vote count, emphasizing, “I’ll tell you, it’s been four days, and we still haven’t come to a conclusion as to why they would do this.” Welker pushed back, prompting Trump to label major news networks as “crooked.” Ultimately, he closed the interview rather abruptly, stating, “I’m tired of it, so let’s end it. Thank you, darling. I hope you have a great time.”
