JJ McCarthy ended his junior year with a kiss after winning the national championship.
The Michigan quarterback shared a sweet moment with his longtime girlfriend Katia Klopas in the stands after the Wolverines defeated Washington 34-13 in the College Football Playoff Championship Game on Monday night.
McCarthy ran to the front row of Houston's NRG Stadium, where Klopas was sitting with her family, and kissed her as she leaned against the wall.
The couple had a brief conversation before McCarthy hugged his family.
The 20-year-old quarterback was on cloud nine as he donned a national champion hat as confetti fell.
McCarthy threw for 140 yards and ran for 31 more to improve to a 27-1 record as the Wolverines' starter, but the Wolverines relied primarily on their running game to win.
McCarthy and Klopas We celebrated our 5th anniversary together. in October, according to a tribute he shared on Instagram at the time.

McCarthy and Klopas have been dating since at least September 2018, when he was a sophomore in high school at Nazareth Academy in Illinois. According to his Instagram.
The couple remained together even after McCarthy transferred to IMG Academy because Nazareth's football season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
