Jack Osbourne Remembers His Father Ozzy Osbourne
Jack Osbourne recently reflected on the memories he shared with his father, Ozzy Osbourne, who sadly passed away on July 22nd. Jack, 39, expressed his grief in a touching post on social media, sharing a video filled with personal family moments and images of Ozzy.
“Since my dad passed away, I’ve been unsure about posting anything because it just feels overwhelming,” Jack wrote. He included a heartfelt message about his father in the video. “He hated long speeches, so I’ll keep it short,” he added.
Ozzy Osbourne passed away at the age of 76.
Jack conveyed how much his father meant to him and many others, stating, “I was lucky to be part of a small group that called him ‘dad’. My heart feels heavy, but there’s also love and gratitude.” He reflected on their time together: “I spent 14,501 days with him, and I consider that a blessing.” He shared a quote by Hunter S. Thompson, which resonated with the way Ozzy lived: “Life shouldn’t be about arriving safely but rather sliding broadside in a cloud of smoke, worn out and saying, ‘Wow!’”
“That was my father,” Jack shared. “He lived life fully, and I love him for that.” The montage also featured some sweet moments with Jack’s children, who were part of the family memories.
Ozzy’s cause of death included cardiac arrest and complications from Parkinson’s disease, as reported by the New York Times.
The family had announced his death publicly, expressing the sadness of losing someone so beloved and requested privacy during this difficult time. “He was surrounded by family and love,” they noted.
Ozzy is survived by his wife Sharon, along with his children Kelly, Amy, and Jack, as well as his other children from a previous marriage.
Thousands attended a procession in Birmingham, England, celebrating Ozzy’s life as they made their way to his resting place, which, according to reports, he wished to be near a lake at his estate.
During a private memorial, a floral tribute inscribed “Ozzy F— Osbourne” was displayed, which Kelly shared with her followers on social media. The event was attended by several notable figures, including Zakk Wylde and Marilyn Manson.
In past interviews, Ozzy expressed that he wanted his funeral to be more of a celebration than a somber occasion. He even jokingly suggested a mix of unexpected elements like fun music and light-hearted pranks. “I want to make sure it’s a celebration, not a sad situation,” he once said.
Ultimately, he hoped that his farewell would be an opportunity to say “Thank you” instead of dwelling on sadness.
