Jaire Alexander Reflects on His Time with Ravens
Jaire Alexander recently shared insights into his departure from the Eagles during the 2025 season.
In a recent Instagram post, the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback spoke about the “internal conflict” he faced while playing for the Ravens, among other issues.
After being released by the Packers, Alexander signed a one-year contract worth $6 million with Baltimore. He played in only two games before being traded to Philadelphia.
However, shortly after the trade, he left the team due to mental health challenges. Reports suggest that Alexander is contemplating his future, including the possibility of retirement.
While he didn’t explicitly mention what his next steps might be in his post, he hinted that he might be considering the end of his football career.
“I loved Baltimore, but I didn’t love where I was,” he noted in his caption. “I went through a lot of internal battles. I wasn’t as confident in my abilities as I used to be. Cornerbacks need that ultimate confidence, and I felt it slipping away. This made me question if I was making the right career choices. Thankfully, I had God, my family, and great teammates who kept things enjoyable.”
“I felt like I let the organization down. Friends and family drove to see me, and I wasn’t even at the game. I never doubted my faith, but I started questioning myself. I kept a smile on my face—it’s a gladiator sport—but losing confidence makes you wonder if it’s time to bow out.”
He also expressed gratitude to “EDC,” likely referring to Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta, for his support and the therapeutic resources available to him.
During his time with the Packers, Alexander earned two Pro Bowl selections and a second-team All-Pro nod in 2020 and 2022. However, injuries hampered his availability, limiting him to just 14 games over his last two seasons with the team.
Throughout his career, he has recorded 12 interceptions and defended 70 passes.
