The revised All-Star format attracted some criticism about the NBA circle, but the two Knicks participants mostly liked the experience.
Jalen Brunson's suggestion was to create a game at the end of the four-team setup once one team reaches a point total higher than the current 40.
“I think it's funny. Branson said late Sunday night in San Francisco. “The game is a bit short. I like the format. It's new, unique. Maybe just [raise the] Maybe scored up to 50.
“I like the way we're doing new things, but we'll know what to expect. You really don't know what to expect, but that was fine.”
Branson, a member of Kenny Smith's Young Star team, scored three points at Team High 8:17 in Charles Barkley's Global Stars' first round loss.
Knicks Center Karl-Anthony Towns played 17:22 and scored 14 points in two games for the Global Star.
“It was amazing. I thought the competition was over so I did an amazing job of giving the fans a show. I hope they appreciate it,” Towns said. “I think the highlight was probably getting JB (Branson) in the first game. That's probably the highlight I have.”
Branson, 28, joked that Smith's goal when drafting the roster was to choose the youngest All-Star available.
“Yeah, he came in and said these were the young stars in the league. [He] Everyone looked at me because they didn't want to draft anyone over 25. Yes, I'm 28, so I was, ha! ” Branson said. “But it's cool to be in the room with so many possibilities and people with lots of basketball.
“I'm always excited when I can do something like this.”
By leading the Knicks to a 36-18 record with the fourth-bound break in the NBA, Branson and Towns were the first New York team to be voted as All-Star starters since Walt Frazier and Earl Monroe did in 1975 I've become a mate.
Branson also took part in the 3-point contest for the second year in a row over the weekend.

The New Jersey native averages 24.7 points and 13.4 rebounds in 49 appearances entering the home game against the Bulls on Thursday since the Knicks signed him from the Timberwolves in September.
“It's a big trade that comes with me welcoming me to the house and for fans, they welcome me back home and open their arms,” Towns said. “And my teammates and coaching staff really maximized my talent. That's a testament to them. It's a humble experience to get home and be shown so much love.”
