Summer Highlights for Knicks Players in New York
The champions are really making the most of their summer in New York.
Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart were spotted at the U.S. Open on Friday, joining a star-studded crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium for Ben Shelton’s semifinal victory against fellow American Frances Tiafoe.
Brunson was there with his wife, Ali, and had the pleasure of sitting next to one of the Knicks’ most famous celebrity supporters, Ben Stiller.
Stiller’s wife, actress Christine Taylor, was also in attendance, enjoying the match alongside the Brunsons. It must have been quite a lively atmosphere.
Hart made his appearance at the U.S. Open earlier in the week and shared some thoughts on the Knicks’ prospects for the upcoming season, particularly concerning their chances of defending their title.
“I don’t think we have a big target because I don’t think anyone is picking us to win again,” Hart remarked. “We’re using it as fuel. We’re still the hunters. We’re not satisfied with one.”
The Knicks finally broke their 53-year championship drought back in June, taking down the Spurs in five games to clinch their first NBA title since 1973.
Since then, Brunson, Bridges, and Hart have not faded from the New York scene, making various appearances as the team gears up to defend their title in the upcoming 2026-27 campaign, which kicks off next month.
Stiller has been one of the team’s most visible celebrity fans for quite some time and was a regular fixture at Madison Square Garden throughout the Knicks’ championship journey.
Other celebrities who have graced the U.S. Open this year include Michelle Obama, Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, 2 Chainz, and Trinity Rodman, who showed up to support Shelton’s win, among numerous others.
