The Denver Nuggets had a must-win Game 2 against the Denver Nuggets on their home floor. minnesota timberwolves The second round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs on Monday night. The Timberwolves upset Denver in Game 1 thanks to Anthony Edwards’ strong shot-making late in the game, and with star center Rudy Gobert missing Game 2 due to the birth of his first child, Denver lost both games of the series. I couldn’t afford to miss it.
Instead, the Wolves beat Denver all night at the break. Minnesota took a 61-35 lead into halftime and was back from there.
The Nuggets look like a bigger, more physical, deeper team, to the extreme. This has been a very frustrating series for several members of Denver, and Jamal Murray is at the top of that list. Murray has been locked up against Minnesota’s length and ball pressure throughout the series and vented his frustration in the first half.
When the Timberwolves started to run away in Game 2, Murray threw a heat pack onto the court from the bench. Watch the video clip here.

For some reason, Edwards was not given a technical foul for the move. Also, that might not be his biggest problem heading into Game 3.
Murray also flashed the money sign to the referees at the start of the second quarter.Rudy Gobert is He was recently fined $20,000 for the same act., Murray clapped in the presence of those involved. For some reason, no technical foul was given to him at any point that night.

Murray was very lucky that the referee overlooked all this. The league probably won’t be held in the next few days.
Murray had a scary performance in the game, scoring eight points on 3-of-18 shooting from the floor. He had been battling a calf injury since late in the season and looked completely different from the player he took over many times in the playoffs. The Timberwolves’ defense is much tougher than the Lakers’ defense they faced in the first round, and so far Murray has no answers.
Minnesota defeated Denver 106-80. The Wolves lead the series 2-0. The reigning champion is officially in jeopardy.
