Ana de Armas has spoken out about her decision to leave Hollywood for a simpler life.
In a recent interview E! News Speaking at the premiere of her latest film, “Eden,” at the Toronto International Film Festival, de Armas explained that she chose to leave Los Angeles to “get away from the craziness of the world.”
“We all want to have the opportunity to create our own safe space, and I decided that for myself too. I found a home where I feel really isolated,” she explained. “I can settle in and only bring people that I want to be with. It's where I have my own little cocoon.”
The Oscar-nominated actress didn't say where she moved, but she reportedly moved into a $7 million, six-bedroom, eight-bathroom home with views of the mountains, meadows and forests.

The “Knives Out” star made headlines when she met and began dating Ben Affleck on the set of the 2019 film “Deep Water,” but the couple split in January 2021.
It's unclear if that influenced her decision to move, but she said she felt like something in her life needed to change.
“We all want to have the opportunity to create our own safe space, and I decided that for myself too. I found a home where I feel really isolated,” she explained. “I can settle in and only bring people that I want to be with. It's where I have my own little cocoon.”
“When it's time for a change, you'll feel it,” she explained. “Take care of yourself. There will come a time when you learn what's good for you and what's not. What serves you best? Pay attention to it and take action.”
De Armas got her big break in the 2019 film Knives Out, starring alongside A-list actors such as Christopher Plummer, Daniel Craig, Chris Evans and Jamie Lee Curtis.

After appearing in several films, including “No Time to Die,” which reunited her with Craig, de Armas played Marilyn Monroe in the Netflix film “Blonde,” which focuses on the rise and fall of the legendary star.
The role earned her her first Academy Award nomination. The film was met with critical acclaim, but audience reviews were less positive. The Hollywood Reporter “It was tough to hear those reactions,” she said in March 2023, but she reflected on “what drew me to that moment.” [her] For the project.”
“That won't change. There is the director and there are other actors I can talk to any time,” she told media. “It hurts to hear people not like your film but that is the reality. The film is not made to please people or to make people like it. It is a painful film to watch.”
Though she's left Los Angeles, she told E! News in March 2023 that she will forever be connected to the city thanks to her performance in “Blonde.”

“Everywhere we went, every location, everywhere we went, she was there,” she said. “Everybody has a story about her. So we all definitely felt her presence in the sense of that spiritual energy. And I think that definitely helped with everyone's determination and willingness to do right by her and love the process of making this movie even more.”
