James Carville calls Jeff Bezos a ‘f—ing fool’ for his Trump support

James Kerrville attacked Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos as one of the “f — fools” remembered in history solely for working with President Donald Trump.

Between him “Politics War Room” podcast On Thursday, the Democratic strategist attacked Tesla CEO Elon Musk with what he believes is ruining his reputation as an innovator working with Trump. This topic led him to call for billionaires “similarly located” like Bezos to work with Trump.

“You have this incredible economic power,” Kerrville said. “You have a huge impact on public opinion. You own a legacy, one of your important media operations.

He called both Musk and Bezos “fools,” but with an emphasis on Bezos, he compared him to Ferdinand Porsche, the founder of Porsche and German engineer.

“You had the opportunity to truly be studied as a model from the children in history books… I think you made a tragic reputational error,” Kerrville said.

Bezos, who owns Amazon, has been criticized by Progressive and members of his newspaper staff for the past few months for announcing a change to the Washington Post opinion page. Most notably, he prevented his editorial page from supporting Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024.

He also financially supported the Trump administration by donating $1 million to his inauguration fund, and even said he was optimistic about Trump's second term.

Kerrville reflected Bezos' critics by claiming he was pounding Trump and that it would ruin him forever.

“This guy wouldn't remember as the best retailer he'd ever lived in,” Kerrville said. “He'll be remembered as a collaborator, and he'll never wash that stink from him. I don't care how much money he has. I don't care how much power he has. I don't care how many people he can be afraid of. That won't happen.

He added, “He's going to look in the mirror. It's coming. It's round the corner. He's going to live with his own legacy.”

Kerrville made a similar comment to Bezos in October about his decision not to support the presidential candidate.

“Essentially, the argument is, 'People don't trust the media anymore, but I'm a billionaire and people really trust billionaires.' So – I think they were acting at Donald Trump's request because it was ridiculous to steroids,” Kerrville said at the time.

Trump praised Bezos' work in the Post and revealed last week that he was talking to Bezos about having a professional relationship.
