Democratic strategist James Kerrville said in a podcast Thursday that he was in San Francisco and instructed many party donors that “stunts” weren't an effective way to fight President Donald Trump.
Above “Lunch with Jamie,“Kerville pointed to the Democrats' actions in Trump's March 4th Congress speech, where Texas Democrat Al Greene paused his speech, with many holding the signs. Kerrville suggested that the party's approach lacks dignity and is not suitable for now. “As we speak, I'm in San Francisco with a lot of democratic donors, and the last thing we want is to throw our hands into the air, scream and protest, and that's what we're saying to them,” Kerrville said. “This is an important time in the history of the country. I'm 80 years old. I've never been so afraid of the country as I do now.”
“And I think I'm a Democrat – we act that way. I think we should make up our minds, we should be dignified, right? And that has to guide how we do this,” he continued. “This isn't the time of stunts, and it's not really… I always say it's the first commandment of Kerrville's politics: “You don't make a butt out of yourself,” and people should keep that in mind. ”
Carville told Fox News Digital Interview On Friday, Democrats announced they were facing pressure from donors who “request” to take action against Trump.
“I think we're in a very dangerous moment at home. I really do. I think we might go in the wrong direction. And what I think Democrats should do is behave like it's a very serious situation,” he said. “And I know they'll get donors who call them and demand something.”
Voter Frank Lunz said on March 6 that voters hated Democrats' actions in Trump's Congress speech.
“The viewers really hate it.[d] [it]. They saw this performance art. They saw it as a bad form of the opposite,” Luntz said.
“And in fact, it was absolutely abomination for voters that they decided to do it with those paddles, that they decided to become Rep. Green,” he added.
CNN Opinion survey The SSRS gave the night of Trump's speech, which revealed that 80% of viewers believe Green's suspension was “inappropriate.”
