Commentary on James Comey’s Social Media Post
During a segment on FNC’s “The Five,” co-host Jesse Watters discussed a recent social media post by former FBI director James Comey, interpreting it as a veiled jab at President Donald Trump.
Watters expressed uncertainty about whether Comey intentionally meant to provoke Trump, suggesting the post seemed to be deleted in haste. He pointed out the irony that Comey had recently published a book, implying a connection to the timing of his comments. According to Watters, it’s not unusual for prosecutors to understand the coded language surrounding serious accusations.
He further remarked that Comey labeled Trump a significant threat to the nation and hinted that calls for punishment might follow. Watters questioned whether Comey was truly aware of the implications of his own words, suggesting that the criticism was part of a larger narrative against Trump.
