James Comey’s daughter experiences a setback as a prosecutor in the Diddy trial

Aide Molen Comey, a U.S. lawyer, took the lead in a team of eight during the recent sex trafficking and assault trials involving rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs. It wrapped up on Wednesday.

Mohren Comey, the daughter of former FBI director James Comey, encountered a setback when the jury found Combs not guilty of the most severe charges, such as conspiracy and sex trafficking. Yet, the jury did side with two prosecutors, concluding that Combs violated the 1910 Mann Act by transporting women across state lines for the purpose of prostitution.

Before this, Mohren was a prosecutor in the Jeffrey Epstein trial and also had a significant role in the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell.

She currently heads the violent and organized crime division at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York (SDNY), a position reminiscent of her father’s earlier career path.

The elder Comey, who had his own experiences as a federal prosecutor in the 1980s, returned to Manhattan in the 2000s after being appointed by then-President George W. Bush. Recently, he faced backlash for a post featuring a stone shaped like “86 47,” which some interpreted as a wish for former President Donald Trump’s demise.

During the trial, Mohren Comey presented a rebuttal to the prosecutors before the jury began deliberations on the charges against Combs.

Mohren claimed that Combs believed the women he victimized lacked the courage to speak out, suggesting he thought he was “untouchable.” She also mentioned Combs’ alleged involvement in a Porsche bombing linked to rapper Scott “Kid Coody” Meski, according to reports.

At the trial’s conclusion, Mohren urged Judge Arun Subramanian to reject the bail requests made by Combs’ attorney, Mark Agnifilo, stating, “There’s a serious related act here that deserves long-term imprisonment.”
