James Woods Critiques Jimmy Kimmel Following Recent Controversy
Actor James Woods has hit out at Jimmy Kimmel after the late-night host’s departure from television, labeling him an “unfair” financial failure and suggesting he should “eat s-t.” Woods also had some sharp words for Kimmel’s supporters, calling them “douchebags.”
Woods, who boasts a following of approximately 5 million, made waves on Thursday by jokingly pretending to support Kimmel during a difficult time. “We’ve all been teasing Kimmel, but deep down, he’s an artist and must be upset about the way he’s treated,” he noted, referring to a previous post that gained significant traction online.
“I’m kidding, Jimbo,” he added lightheartedly.
On Friday, the 78-year-old actor also shared a headline quoting Stephen Colbert, stating, “Tonight, we’re all Jimmy Kimmel,” in a show that seemed to pay homage to the ousted host. Woods agreed, posting, “He’s right.”
The same day, Woods included a clip of Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz discussing Kimmel on MSNBC, criticizing him as “not in America” and likening his style to “North Korean.”
“Enough is enough. Kimmel was let go because his show was just bad for business. He may have been funny, yet no one seemed to be laughing,” Woods shared alongside the video clip.
Kimmel, aged 57, was reportedly removed “indefinitely” by ABC on Wednesday after making contentious comments about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, incorrectly suggesting that the suspected assailant was linked to a specific political group.
In his monologue on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, he remarked, “We reached new lows over the weekend with some trying to portray this guy as part of their group while trying to gain political capital.”
During the episode, Kimmel also aired a clip of President Trump responding to Kirk’s murder, with Trump commenting, “I think it’s very good,” before discussing White House renovations.
In a follow-up, Kimmel quipped, “He’s in the fourth stage of grief: Construction,” criticizing this approach as childish rather than adult-like.
Woods took to social media to express his support for Trump, celebrating the former president’s victory in November. Woods remarked that it was a historic moment for America, noting a noticeable uptick in the Dow Jones.
Just this past Friday, Woods shared a photo featuring Kirk surrounded by young black supporters, stating, “This is my America. Remember Charlie Kirk.”
