Jannik Sinner explains his relationship status following pictures with model Lara Leito

Jannik Sinner is focusing on his singles game.

After completing a three-month doping suspension just before the Italian Open, the three-time Grand Slam winner addressed reporters on Monday. He clarified his relationship status regarding tennis professional Anna Karinskaya, saying he was “not related” to her after being linked to Russian model Lala late in April.

“I was pretty surprised when I spotted some of those photos,” Sinner mentioned, as covered by various outlets. “So, everyone is asking; that’s all. Everything’s good.”

This comment came shortly after the Italian magazine Chi shared snapshots related to his situation.

According to Chi, Sinner had been seen in the stands while the Italian athlete trained at the Monte Carlo Country Club.

Lala, who has over 350,000 Instagram followers, had previously been in a relationship with Oscar winner Adrien Brody.

Sinner, now ranked as the world’s top player, confirmed his relationship with Kalinskaya—26 years old—during a press event in May 2024 in France. “I typically don’t like discussing my personal life, but yes, Anna and I are dating,” he had said then.

The two were spotted sharing a kiss last September after Sinner’s victory over American player Taylor Fritz at the US Open.

Having last played at the Australian Open in January, Sinner won the Grand Slam title against Germany’s Alexander Zverev in straight sets.

In February, he accepted a three-month ban as part of a settlement with the global doping agency, related to positive doping tests.

The positive results were attributed to an over-the-counter spray containing Clostebol that his coach had purchased for Sinner’s physiotherapist to treat a finger injury.

“I didn’t want to go through this initially; it wasn’t easy to accept, knowing what actually happened,” Sinner shared with ESPN. “But sometimes we have to make difficult choices in tough situations, and that’s what we did. It’s behind us now.”

Sinner is set to compete in the Italian Open, starting on May 9th.
