Jasmine Crockett Expresses Confusion About People's Admiration for Trump, Suggesting He 'Clearly Has Them in a Cult'

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) expressed confusion over Americans’ admiration for President Donald Trump, oddly using the recent government shutdown as part of her argument, ultimately suggesting the president’s supporters are part of a “cult.”

“I really don’t get why they support him so much. He clearly doesn’t care about them. When 42 million people had to wait in line for EBT, they found nothing, and he didn’t show any concern,” she remarked, ignoring the role of Democrats in extending the longest government shutdown in U.S. history.

“People need to start focusing on themselves, their families, and their futures instead of being led astray by someone who has them in a cult,” she concluded.

Crockett also overlooked Trump’s actions to lessen the impact of the shutdown on Americans, despite Democrats rejecting a Republican proposal for a clean continuing resolution aimed at funding medical care for undocumented immigrants and $1.5 trillion in partisan projects.

Before the shutdown concluded, House Majority Leader Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) stated: The Trump administration was actively “trying to find a way” to allocate Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.

“Somehow, he managed to ensure our troops were paid last month. Unfortunately, there’s less flexibility now. He’s working to ensure 42 million low-income Americans reliant on SNAP can get fed,” Emmer mentioned at that time.

Crockett, who is considering a Senate run, has regularly criticized Trump, claiming he is “more corrupt and more criminal than any other president.” Referring to him as “The Grim Reaper,” she asserted, “Just when you think everything is fine, remember that the Grim Reaper is around. Sadly, that Grim Reaper is the president and his followers,” during a CNN appearance earlier in November.

A Texas congresswoman, who also attributes increased political violence to Trump, made headlines again this week for mistakenly claiming that billionaire Jeffrey Epstein contributed to EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin.

However, it was a different Dr. Jeffrey Epstein that made the donation, not the infamous one.

“Yes, Crockett, a doctor named Dr. Jeffrey Epstein (not the one you’re thinking of) donated to my previous campaign,” Zeldin responded.

“There is no unusual relationship, genius!” he added.
