Texas Democrat Jasmine Crockett is facing criticism after images surfaced on social media showing her boarding a flight in Atlanta ahead of wheelchair passengers. Republican House Congress Chairman Lisa McLain shared a post from her campaign account, alleging that Crockett was “abusing her powers” by skipping the line in front of those needing extra assistance.
This incident follows a controversial moment in March when Crockett, who is paralyzed and uses a wheelchair, referred to Texas Governor Greg Abbott as “Governor Hot Wheels” during an LGBT advocacy event in Los Angeles. Crockett has gained a reputation as a rising star, often attracting attention for her confrontational stance against President Donald Trump and Congress Republicans.
McLain’s post included images suggesting that Crockett was allowed to board a Delta flight before at least two passengers in wheelchairs. The images were highlighted by Fox News Digital, which indicated that Crockett was the first to board the flight.
Crockett previously stirred up controversy with her “hot wheel” comment regarding Abbott, asserting that she “takes away tension and fear among vulnerable people” by her remarks. When approached by a reporter about whether she regretted her comments about Abbott, Crockett did not respond.
Moreover, Crockett’s office has not commented on the recent backlash. Over the weekend, she also made headlines for suggesting in a speech in Jackson, Mississippi, that college graduates could “use chairs” as weapons.
