Jason Kelce berated by angry fan in California over autograph signing

A bizarre scene unfolded in Hollywood Thursday night involving an angry fan and former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce after the former NFL player apparently refused to sign an autograph.

On Thursday night after filming an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” Kelce was verbally attacked by an angry man over Kelce's decision not to sign autographs to people on the other side of the fence. The man uttered a profane rant.

The incident was first reported by TMZ Sports and captured on video.

“I don't care. It's a sign. It's an attitude,” a man can be heard shouting.

Kelce, who remained calm as he heard the screams, tried to explain his reasoning as he tried to get into his car.

“I have a habit of not signing people who follow my destination,” Kelce said.

The man denied following Kelce, adding that he regularly gets autographs from people filming there.

Kelce remained calm and appeared to try to defuse the situation by saying, “I love you.”

The man continued his angry rant until Kelce got out of his car and approached a group of people to sign for items.

“Listen, I'm not trying to be rude. I'm not trying to be mean,” Kelce said as he approached the group.

The man mysteriously admitted the interaction was “embarrassing” and ended up shaking Kelce's hand.

“I love you, I understand, and I'm sorry. I didn't mean anything wrong.” [by] that. I promise,” Kelce added.

Thursday's incident with a fan occurred after a game against Ohio State, when a Penn State player yelled a homophobic slur at Jason as he walked on the school's campus, and the player's phone was stolen. This happened a few weeks after Kelce broke my phone.

Kelce apologized for the incident, saying at the time that he was “not proud” of his response.
