Jason Palmer, Baltimore investor who defeated Biden in American Samoa, wants to debate

The Baltimore businessman who upset President Biden in the American Samoa caucus on Super Tuesday is ready to weigh in and debate President Biden’s shock victory on Wednesday.

“Now that we beat Joe Biden, it’s time for RFK Jr. and I to get on the debate stage together,” Jason Palmer said on the show.jesse watters prime time

Host Jesse Watters said he would pass on a message to Kennedy, who appeared on the show shortly before Palmer. Mr. Palmer, who was virtually unknown until Super Tuesday, suddenly became a household name at the White House on Wednesday.

After being confronted by Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy after Biden did not publicly comment on the upset, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said, “I want to thank Jason Palmer for his victory last night.” I bless you.”

Mr. Palmer told Mr. Watters that although he did not campaign there, it was a beautiful place that he planned to visit in the future. However, the candidate hired three local residents with campaign experience and established a campaign presence in the area. These included one named Miracle and another named Dorian, whom he called “wonderful.”

”[We organized] Virtual town hall, beach cleanup [and were] We actually talked to people about what the important issues were. And these important issues actually align with what’s already on my platform,” he said, citing the need for additional educational resources and a focus on health care.

Palmer said there is only one outdated hospital in the U.S. territory, and while many Samoans want to attend school for medical care, their only institutions of higher education are community colleges.

Jason Palmer’s 56% to 44% victory makes Biden the first in a primary or caucus since 1980, when Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts won 11 states and the District of Columbia over President Jimmy Carter. He became the first incumbent to be defeated.

A total of 351 ballots were read out late Tuesday inside a bowling alley in the capital, Pago Pago, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Mr. Palmer and Mr. Biden departed with three delegates each from the territory, which is located about 4,600 miles southwest of Hawaii and shares maritime borders with the Cook Islands and the independent nation of Samoa.

Pago Pago voters despise Biden for the second time in a row

American Samoa has a record of upsets in presidential caucuses, with former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s only victory occurring there in 2020. He and Samoan Tulsi Gabbard were the only candidates to win delegates to the convention.

In 2008, Hillary Clinton defeated Sen. Mike Gravel (D-Alaska) and Sen. Barack Obama (D-Illinois) in American Samoa.

Asked about his future campaign plans and whether he would fight for more delegates, Palmer said he would “compete vigorously” in Arizona, with border security a top priority.

“Immigration is a top concern for Americans, and we’re ready to put together a 12-page plan on how we’re going to solve the immigration problem. We’re happy to look at it,” he said.

Palmer said his plan is centered around, among other efforts, “fast-tracking” border judges from adjudicating a nearly 10-year backlog of immigration and asylum cases. As a result, countless immigrants were essentially released on their own recognizance.
