Jason Whitlock and pastors talk about Marcellus Wiley's difficult divorce: dark rituals, the occult, and religious reasons for ending a marriage

Marcellus Wiley Faces Serious Allegations

Marcellus Wiley, a former NFL defensive end turned sportscaster, has found himself in a troubling situation. He was arrested on July 4th in Orlando, Florida, facing a misdemeanor charge related to domestic battery. The incident reportedly involved his wife, Annmarie Wiley, a former star of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” who claimed that he threatened her life and pushed her in the face.

Following the allegations, Annmarie filed for divorce and secured a temporary restraining order that includes no contact provisions and sole custody of their three children. She has also accused him of past abuses, including rape.

Wiley has been released on bail and has firmly denied all the charges, claiming his innocence and mentioning evidence that he believes supports his case. In a statement regarding the divorce, he even alleged that Annmarie had cast a “voodoo spell” on their family.

This scandal caught the attention of Jason Whitlock, who sought insight from Christian pastors Anthony and Virgil Walker, along with Harmony contributor Shemeka Michel. They were invited to discuss the situation from a biblical perspective.

Shemeka shared her disbelief regarding the voodoo allegations, noting that many individuals from “Real Housewives” often engage in spiritual practices like visiting psychics. “That’s just the lifestyle associated with that show,” she remarked.

Whitlock, who advocates for a biblical understanding of marriage, expressed that black magic could potentially justify a divorce. He questioned if his feelings about voodoo spells were a wise or biblical reaction, prompting responses from Virgil and Anthony.

Despite the gravity of the claims, Virgil leaned toward reconciliation, stating that the Wiley family is deeply immersed in a culture that may accept such practices. “Marcellus should have been aware of the quirky behaviors that come from that environment,” he noted.

Virgil also emphasized the importance of Marcellus focusing on his relationship with Christ, saying, “Other issues, like the occult, can be addressed later. What we need to focus on now is his faith and how he can share that with his spouse.”
