Jaxson Dart looks forward to making an impact alongside Malik Nabers in the Giants' future

Giants’ Dart and Nabors Facing Challenges

Jackson Dart’s debut as an NFL starter coincided with Malik Nabors’ last game of the 2025 season.

During Week 4, the second-year wide receiver managed to catch just two passes for 20 yards from the rookie quarterback. Unfortunately, that was the beginning and end of their partnership on the field.

Nabors suffered a torn ACL in a narrow 21-18 victory over the Chargers. The Giants are optimistic, hoping he can reconnect with Dart in their 2026 season opener.

“We’ll definitely stick together and keep our heads up,” Dart expressed. “I’m really excited about the future. We talk about this often; being just 22, we have a big future ahead and many great moments to share. I know he’s focused on his recovery and will come back even stronger. He’s got that fighting spirit.”

Speaking of fighting spirit, Nabors recently featured in an IHOP commercial where he humorously lamented how his injury affects those who have high hopes for him in fantasy football. In a lighthearted twist, he made the last-place team owner eat pancakes all day.

“I found it pretty interesting,” Dart remarked.

However, Dart losing Nabors was tough. It really hit the offense hard, taking away one of the best pass-catchers. “It’s definitely a challenge not having him out there,” Dart admitted. “He’s incredibly talented and can outplay anyone. When you have a player like him, he’s the kind of safety net you want to lean on.”

On another note, Abdul-Carter wrapped up his rookie season on a strong note, contributing greatly in the final weeks. In those last four games, he tallied 16 tackles, with impressive stats like six tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and 10 quarterback hits.

His growth wasn’t accidental; after interim head coach Mike Kafka benched him for violating team rules, Carter became more mindful of his actions. “He’s dedicated to improving,” interim defensive coordinator Charlie Bullen mentioned. “We’ve discussed his process, and it’s evident he learned a lot from his rookie year. Yet, growth doesn’t always come easily.”

Dart has made headlines with nine rushing touchdowns, now surpassing Josh Allen for second-most by a rookie quarterback in the Super Bowl era. Although, it’s unlikely he’ll break Cam Newton’s 2011 record of 14 touchdowns.

Lastly, the Cowboys will be missing their leading rusher, Javonte Williams, who has recorded 1,201 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns, along with second-string running back Malik Davis.

To adjust, the Giants added three players from their practice squad: RB Dante Miller, CB Jarrick Bernard Converse, and WR Xavier Gipson, filling the gaps left by those placed on injured reserve. Additionally, TE Tanner Conner and DL Casey Rogers were promoted from the practice squad.
