Jay Leno Spotted Driving Vintage Car in Los Angeles
Jay Leno was recently seen back behind the wheel, navigating the streets of Los Angeles in one of his beloved vintage cars.
The 75-year-old, known for his quirky persona and past as host of “The Tonight Show,” was out on Wednesday, driving around the city and drawing attention from passersby.
He was at the controls of a 1907 White Model G steam car, which is noted for its 30-horsepower brass-era design produced by the White Motor Company.
This antique vehicle, finished in a striking green and black, boasts polished brass lamps and trim. Unlike modern cars, it runs on a compound steam engine, featuring three rows of seating and a tall, upright windshield.
Remarkably, only a small number of the approximately 9,000 White steam cars manufactured between 1900 and 1911 are still around, with fewer than 170 known to exist today, according to collectors. About half of those that remain are displayed in museums, while only a handful remain privately owned.
Leno, recognized for his impressive auto collection, looked calm and attentive as he maneuvered the vintage vehicle through the bustling city, the brass accents glistening under the Californian sun.
Even after enduring a serious garage fire in 2022, which left him with severe burns, and a motorcycle accident later on, Leno seems undeterred and continues to embrace his passion for classic cars.
