Hip-hop legend Jay-Z is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl along with Sean “Diddy” Combs at a VMA afterparty in New York 20 years ago, a bombshell lawsuit alleges. I was woken up.
The alleged victim, identified only as “Jane Doe,” made the disturbing allegations in a newly refiled civil suit Sunday in the Southern District of New York.
The complaint was originally filed against Combs in October, but was later amended to include Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter).
But Carter slammed the allegations late Sunday, claiming in a statement that the alleged victim's attorney only refiled the complaint after he first accused her of trying to “intimidate” him.
In court documents, the alleged victim, a female teenager, was arrested in September 2000 after a VMA show at Radio City Music Hall, while an unnamed “female celebrity” looked on, in a drug-fueled home attack. He claims Combs and Carter attacked him at a party.
According to the filing, the girl claims the assault happened after she had one drink and felt “dizzy and light-headed.”
“Plaintiff entered what appeared to be an empty bedroom to look for a place to rest and lie down for a short time,” the plaintiff charged.
“Shortly thereafter, Combs entered the room with Defendant Carter and a female celebrity. Plaintiff immediately recognized all three celebrities.”
“Combs aggressively approached Plaintiff with a crazy look in his eyes, grabbed her and said, 'I'm ready to party,'” the filing added.
“Comms then threw Plaintiff against a wall, causing Plaintiff to fall. Plaintiff stood up and stumbled, at which point Combs grabbed her again and threw her onto the bed. At that point, Plaintiff became increasingly confused. Carter then began to remove Plaintiff's clothes.
The woman then claimed that she was held down and raped while Combs and Carter watched.
In a statement, Carter, who married pop star Beyoncé Knowles in 2008, criticized the alleged victim, Texas attorney Tony Buzbee, and ridiculed the allegations. Mr. Buzbee has spearheaded numerous civil lawsuits against Mr. Combs after he was indicted on federal sex trafficking charges. September.
“My lawyer received an attempted blackmail, called a demand letter, from an 'attorney' named Tony Buzbee. It was the nature of these allegations that he was calculating to bring about intense public scrutiny. I would then be willing to settle,” Carter said in a lengthy statement.
“No, that backfired! I wanted to expose you for your public fraud. So, no, I won't give you a single red penny.”
“These allegations are so heinous in nature that we would like criminal charges to be filed rather than civil!! Anyone who commits such crimes against minors should be locked up. Don't you agree?'' he continued.
“If that's the case, these alleged victims deserve real justice.”
Carter added: “My only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I have to sit our kids down, and one of them, her friend is definitely watching the press.'' , is old enough to question the nature of these claims and explain the cruelty and greed of the people.”
The civil suit is one of a series of charges leveled against Combs after he was indicted on federal sex trafficking charges in September.
Combs' lawyer derided the lawsuit as a “shameless publicity stunt.”
“As his legal team has previously stated, Mr. Combs has full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, Mr. Combs, male or female, adult or minor, will The truth that I was never sexually assaulted or trafficked will prevail.”
Mr. Combs, who has pleaded not guilty to the federal charges and is scheduled to go on trial next May, is being held without bail at a federal detention center in Brooklyn.
