Jayden Reed leaves the game early due to a shoulder injury, raising concerns for the Packers.

Midway through the game against the Commanders on Thursday, Packers receiver Jayden Reid was ruled out due to a shoulder injury, as announced by Green Bay.

The 25-year-old was injured while attempting a deep catch in the end zone early in the first quarter, but the play was called back by a flag.

Reid fell hard on his right shoulder and took some time to get up. Initially, the team indicated his return was possible, but he was eventually ruled out just before the third quarter started.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Reid has faced shoulder issues; he previously dislocated his right shoulder during last season’s wildcard loss to the Eagles.

Luckily, he avoided surgery and managed to make a full recovery ahead of the offseason training activities.

Adding to his challenges, Reid was also playing through a fracture in the Jones bone of his left foot, which he sustained during August practice.

He mentioned last month, “I just got my foot wrong. It hurts a bit.”

Instead of opting for surgery, he took about three weeks off from practice in August to heal and later admitted to reporters that he wasn’t feeling completely ready for the first week.

Reid shared, “I mean, I work through that. I didn’t feel 100% today, but being there felt great, and I’ll tell you that.”

In the week one win over the Lions, he had a solid performance with three catches, including a touchdown.

Last season, Reid emerged as a key player for the Packers, racking up 857 yards and six touchdowns during all 17 games, solidifying himself as a valuable asset.

“Whenever I’m there, it’s a joy, so it was just coming back with my peers and it felt great,” Reid reflected. “Obviously, I didn’t do the whole practice; I still do a few things.”

He concluded, “[But] I trust the process, follow the protocol and try to be the best where I am.”
