Continued Feud Between Jaylen Brown and Stephen A. Smith

The ongoing clash between Jaylen Brown and Stephen A. Smith shows no signs of resolution, particularly after Brown’s latest comments on Sunday night.

While streaming to his Twitch followers, Brown took the opportunity to reinforce his previous calls for Smith to retire, analyzing a segment where Smith spoke about himself on “First Take.” He didn’t hold back, bluntly expressing his frustration.

“Forget you, Steven A,” he stated during the stream. “Stephen A, Stephen B, Stephen C. You want me to be quiet and stop streaming? Well, I want you to stop talking and stay off these networks. You’re not doing real journalism.”

This tumultuous relationship has caught the attention of sports fans and media alike, tracing back to the end of the Celtics’ season. Brown was a key player for the Celtics throughout the year until Jayson Tatum returned, which he referred to as his “favorite part” of his career.

In response, Smith suggested that Brown “needs to be quiet” and should “go on vacation” unless he’s planning on being traded. Brown retorted in a post on X, claiming he’d stay silent once Smith decided to retire.

In the course of the stream, Brown challenged why Tatum wasn’t part of the discussion and criticized Smith for fabricating a narrative about why the upcoming Celtics season was Brown’s favorite. He asked, “What kind of journalism is this?… Damn you, Stephen A… You still need my offer.”

“Tell this guy to retire already,” Brown added during his stream. “He’s become synonymous with clickbait media. Maybe his retirement could kickstart a movement to change things around here. Or we could ignore journalistic integrity altogether, letting them get away with their nonsense.”

During the regular season, Brown achieved a career-high average of 28.7 points per game and was selected for his fourth consecutive All-Star Game. Unfortunately, the Celtics faced an early exit in the playoffs, losing to the 76ers despite Tatum’s return.

Adding to the drama, Brown was fined $50,000 for criticizing referees following the team’s loss to Philadelphia, claiming they had “intentions.” Thus, instead of another playoff run and a shot at a championship, the conflict between Brown and Smith escalated.

After this latest exchange, it seems the feud is far from over.
