JD Vance Explains How Democrats Attempted to Manipulate the Census and Redistricting

Vance Critiques Democrats on Immigration and Redistricting

Vice President JD Vance expressed concerns about Democrats fostering illegal immigration and disrupting the American political landscape during a recent interview on Sunday Morning Futures.

He pointed out that Democrats from the Texas legislature have relocated to states like New York and Illinois to hinder GOP proposals that could lead to Republicans gaining up to five congressional seats. Notably, former President Donald Trump has proposed strategies that do not involve illegal immigration.

Vance told host Maria Bartiromo that the push for redistribution in Texas and other Republican-leaning states poses challenges. He remarked, “Fortunately, with Trump’s leadership, we are seeing stronger Republican resolve. You will eventually notice more backbone in the GOP standing against these aggressive tactics from Democrats.” He emphasized the necessity of effort to recalibrate the political landscape, mentioning the need to redo the census and ensure fair representation among states.

On another note, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced that he requested a court to declare congressional seats open for the Democratic lawmakers who left the state, branding their actions as a form of “out-of-state rebellion.” This move is backed by funding from organizations affiliated with left-wing activist George Soros, including a PAC established by former Texas Representative Beto O’Rourke.

Vance elaborated on why Republicans are keen to redraw congressional districts in red states. “I became aware of this a few years back. When allocating representatives, illegal aliens are counted, even if they aren’t eligible to vote,” he noted, pointing out that states like California benefit from this, gaining more seats than warranted due to their high illegal immigrant population.

He argued, “Ohio, Indiana, and similar states face fewer congressional representatives because they allow scenarios like California’s to persist. It’s grossly unfair, and the only way to combat this is to respond forcefully, much like the blue states have done.”

Following the 2022 midterm elections, New York’s redistricting led to a situation where six of the eleven House Republicans faced significant threats. In Illinois, Democrats reconfigured the congressional map, managing to oust two Republicans, including the notable critic of Trump, Adam Kinzinger.
