Vice President Vance Responds to Newsom’s Jab During Disneyland Visit
Vice President JD Vance recently found himself in the spotlight after California Governor Gavin Newsom made a sharp comment about Vance’s weekend trip to Disneyland with his family.
Videos featuring Vance, his wife Usha, and their two children enjoying the amusement park surfaced online, eventually attracting attention on social media.
Newsom, who has been occupied with a lawsuit related to an unfortunate incident at a marijuana farm, took to X to express his feelings about Vance’s family outing. He wrote, “I hope you enjoy your family time, @jdvance. The family you are torn certainly won’t.”
However, Vance didn’t take offense. Instead, he simply replied, “I had a great time, thank you.”
While at Disneyland, Vance encountered about 150 protesters outside the park, voicing their discontent. Additionally, other protests were taking place nearby in Anaheim, close to a recent immigration incident.
More demonstrators gathered at a hotel where Vance was reportedly staying, reinforcing the tension surrounding the visit.
The Disneyland trip was not politically motivated—Vance also made a stop at Camp Pendleton as part of his involvement in the Second Lady Literacy Mission, where he read to children of active duty military members.
Meanwhile, Newsom is said to be eyeing a potential presidential run in 2028, and he’s been engaged in a heated feud with the Trump administration since taking office.
The political climate has been tense, especially after Democrats clashed with President Trump following an anti-ICE protest that spiraled out of control. In response, Trump called in the National Guard after more than 200 undocumented immigrants were detained at a marijuana farm last week.
A judge has since issued a ruling against Trump’s order for broad arrests at the site, labeling them unconstitutional.
