He expressed gratitude for Leavitt’s contributions, noting her effectiveness as a spokesperson within the administration. “She has articulated and defended the president’s policies exceptionally well, and I’m very thankful for her efforts,” he added.

Vance acknowledged the unique challenges faced by young parents in such demanding roles. “We understand how tough yet rewarding this ongoing work can be,” he mentioned.

He also expressed disappointment over her departure but remained optimistic about her future endeavors. “We’re sad to see her leave, but I’m confident she will achieve great things ahead,” Vance said.

Leavitt announced on Wednesday that she will resign from the Trump administration at the end of August to prioritize her family, reflecting on her time as the chief press secretary.

“Serving as White House press secretary for the past year and a half has been a remarkable honor and adventure,” she said. “I am extremely thankful to President Trump for allowing me so many special moments, from working in the West Wing to spending hours in the Oval Office and meeting with world leaders.”

“Above all, I am grateful to the President for the unique privilege of speaking on his behalf from the White House podium,” she continued. “I take great pride in discussing this administration’s historic accomplishments and hold the liberal media accountable, ensuring that the American public hears the truth about President Trump’s successes.”
