JD Vance urges Tim Walz to resign due to fraud allegations

Vance Discusses Minnesota Fraud Scandal

Vice President J.D. Vance recently addressed the ongoing fraud situation in Minnesota, suggesting that it represents a broader conspiracy. He mentioned that the Trump administration believes there’s widespread fraud across the country, particularly involving illegal immigrants who are misusing the welfare system.

On “Jesse Watters Prime Time,” Vance asserted, “Everyone involved will be prosecuted.” His comments came shortly after the Trump administration halted over $10 billion in payments to five states governed by Democrats, including California, over concerns that noncitizens were improperly receiving funds.

Vance was asked about Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who announced he wouldn’t run for re-election. He indicated that Walz should resign due to the fraud scandal that is projected to involve at least $9 billion. “I think Tim Walz should resign,” Vance stated. “I almost feel sorry for the guy, other than the fact that he should have seen this.”

The vice president characterized the Minnesota fraud case as a “colossal government failure,” noting that it’s not just about ineligible individuals receiving welfare. “People are taking this money and launching entire businesses siphoning money from American taxpayers,” he added.

Vance also predicted that similar fraud cases would emerge in other states. He pointed out California’s actions as blatant evidence of welfare being given to illegal aliens, mentioning that the Trump administration is sending agents to several locations.

In response, California’s Governor Gavin Newsom’s office emphasized that the state’s Department of Social Services oversees crucial programs to assist working families. They defended their practices, arguing that accusations regarding fraud are unfounded and could harm vulnerable families.

The office stated, “These funds are not discretionary; they are a critical lifeline for working families across California.” They condemned the withholding of childcare funding as a tactic rooted in baseless claims, asserting it would only hurt those who really need support.
