Jeanine Pirro Confirms Independent Inquiry into Ilhan Omar's Financial Matters

Investigation into Rep. Ilhan Omar’s Finances Opened

The United States Attorney for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Pirro, has confirmed that her office is investigating Rep. Ilhan Omar’s finances. This inquiry is distinct from the ongoing immigration-related investigation conducted by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

This development followed a raid on Omar’s Washington, D.C. home by agents from Homeland Security Investigations. Pirro shared with Fox News that her office has initiated this financial investigation regarding Omar.

“That is subject of an investigation as well,” Pirro stated when John Roberts from Fox News brought up earlier accusations concerning Omar’s financial status. “It doesn’t matter what the House does. It doesn’t matter, you know, what this agency or that does. We’re looking at the facts. Based upon the facts, we’ll follow them wherever they take us.”

In January, the New York Times reported that the Biden administration had kicked off an investigation into Omar’s finances, which came about as a result of claims that she had accumulated a substantial net worth since assuming her congressional position.

Following the raid on her residence, there have been reports regarding the immigration-related inquiry focusing on the birth date Omar provided when she immigrated from Somalia to the U.S. A recent article by the New York Post highlighted changes made to her official birth year in public records, shifting it from 1981 to 1982 after her election to Congress.

Pirro indicated that the evidence presented to the judge in D.C. for the search warrant must have been compelling enough to convince him to approve it, especially with the upcoming midterm elections in mind. “That judge would not have signed that warrant unless there was probable cause,” she asserted on Fox News, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation.

She further noted, “There are several investigations going on, and I don’t think there’s any question, but if there was a crime that was committed, it will be prosecuted.”
