The Seahawks' winning move on Sunday featured four penalties against the Jets' defense. Three of them went for fourth downs, and two of them gave Seattle a first down.
Jets coach Jeff Ulbrich reviewed each penalty Monday.
First, the Jets were asked to put 12 people on the field when the Seahawks were playing No. 4 and No. 6.
The Jets initially thought the Seahawks would punt, but Seattle punter Michael Dixon suffered an injury, and Seattle opted to punt. The Jets did not inform punt returner Xavier Gipson, who remained on the field with the defense, and a penalty was called.
“There were moments like when I saw the special teams coordinator on the sideline signaling for a punt,” Ulbrich said. , but it needs to be conveyed across the board. Normally when you sub, you're subbing guys that are close to the ball or the line of scrimmage, and that's one of the guys that ran away from us, and that's totally unacceptable. [Gipson] Obviously going back there as a returner, there's no way we missed that. It was a serious mistake at a crucial moment in the match. ”
This left the Seahawks with a fourth-and-1, and Quantez Stigers was called for pass interference, allowing a first down.
“Especially at the top of a route like that, you have to keep your hands down and stay clean in those moments that can be very difficult, but we can play better.” Ulbrich said.
The Seahawks again faced a 4-and-1 and the Jets stopped them, but defensive tackle Solomon Thomas was called for a horse-collar tackle.
“For me, the horse collar is an offensive penalty. Sometimes in scrums like that, things like that happen,” Ulbrich said. “The fact that he didn't get tackled with the horse's collar itself and the moment he realized he had that part of the jersey, he let it go. That's an offensive penalty.”
Finally, Will McDonald was called for offsides and moved the ball 5 yards up for the Seahawks, who scored on the next play.

thank you
“What happened pre-snap was totally unacceptable. We had an offside, and it was real,” Ulbrich said. “So there are aggressive couples out there, we can always live with them, but there are couples out there that are totally unacceptable.”
The Jets added running back Kane Nwanwu to the active roster from the practice squad on Monday. Nwanwu returned a kickoff 99 yards Sunday and also committed a forced fumble after being promoted from the practice squad. The Jets cut running back Israel Abanikananda to make room on the roster. Abanikananda was a fifth-round pick by the team in 2023, but has not played in every game this season. … Ulbrich did not have updates on injured players CB Sauce Gardner (hamstring) and RT Morgan Moses (shoulder).
