A man was taken into custody on Monday, May 5th, after crashing his vehicle through the front gate of Jennifer Aniston’s Bel Air mansion, valued at $21 million.
Authorities reported that the incident occurred at around 12:20 PM, with Aniston, aged 56, present at the property during the crash.
Aniston’s security team responded swiftly, apprehending the driver. The individual, who is believed to be in his 70s, was arrested for felony vandalism shortly after LAPD arrived on the scene.
An investigation has commenced to determine the circumstances and motivations behind the incident.
Fortunately for Aniston, this bizarre event takes place as she prepares to leave her Bel Air residence for a new property in Montecito, which is priced at nearly $15 million.
She acquired her current mansion from Oprah Winfrey for a staggering $108.8 million in September 2022 and has spent three years transforming it into a Tuscan-style farmhouse featuring four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.
Recent aerial images show that renovations are nearing completion, hinting that Aniston is set to make Montecito her primary residence. She is just the latest celebrity to abandon Los Angeles for the affluent Santa Barbara area, joining the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz, Adam Levine, and Ariana Grande. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have also resided in Montecito since 2020.
This incident comes on the heels of dating rumors involving Aniston and actor Pedro Pascal, which began swirling around after they shared a lengthy dinner in West Hollywood in March. However, the two were quick to clarify that they were merely discussing Pascal’s interest in involving Aniston in an HBO project during their meal.
Pascal expressed admiration for Aniston, stating, “I’ll do anything for Jennifer. She’s that person. She’s that person to everyone.” He elaborated on her ability to connect with people, saying that if you make eye contact with her at a gathering, she knows just how to interact with you.
Aniston even made a brief appearance in the second season premiere of “The Last of Us,” which features Pascal on the cover of People Magazine from 2003.
