Jeremy Renner seems to be handling the recent harassment allegations with a positive attitude.
While attending amfAR’s 2nd Annual Las Vegas Gala on Friday, he was spotted grinning as he wore a classic black suit and tie. The event, focused on philanthropy, also saw him receiving an award for philanthropic leadership.
The 54-year-old “Hurt Locker” star was accompanied by his sister, Kim Renner, who leads the Renervation Foundation. They walked the red carpet together, as reported by Forbes.
It was Renner’s first public appearance since he addressed harassment accusations from former business partner Yi Chou, labeling them as “inaccurate and untrue” in a statement provided to Page Six.
His attorney, Marty Singer, suggested that Chou was retaliating against Renner after he turned down her romantic propositions and didn’t promote her work on social media.
Chou mentioned that there had been a brief consensual interaction, but Renner reportedly has not communicated with her since late October and disregarded her “explicit sexual messages.”
In response, he sent Chou a cease-and-desist notice, threatening potential legal action over her “false, fabricated, and despicable lies.”
Earlier this month, Chou accused Renner of flooding her with personal, intimate photos following their texting in June. She claimed he expressed earnest intentions about wanting a serious relationship.
Chou also alleged she had a written agreement with his production firm concerning a collaborative documentary project, but Renner denied any personal or professional connection.
She expressed feeling deeply shocked and horrified when he allegedly threatened to alert immigration authorities after she called out his past actions and urged him to act respectfully.
According to her, she has a collection of explicit content that Renner purportedly sent via WhatsApp.
Chou disclosed their supposed brief relationship to a news outlet in October, stating they found “new love” following Renner’s serious snowplow accident in 2023.
Renner’s legal representative indicated that no amicable resolution has been achieved between the parties yet.
