Jeremy Rosado, a former contestant from 'American Idol,' Shares His Experience of Jesus’ Healing Power in New Album

An artist who became well-known through competitions like American Idol and The Voice is now sharing a new album along with a message that’s deeply inspired by his journey of waiting on God and learning to trust His timing. Jeremy Rosado, a soulful singer at just 19, first caught the public’s eye in 2012 when he finished 13th in the inaugural season of American Idol. He later competed in The Voice in 2021, where he joined Kelly Clarkson’s team. During the years between, he refined his musical skills, led worship at his local church, and took on the challenging role of guardian to his niece, a responsibility that has greatly impacted his life and music.

His new album is titled Waiting Room, which reflects the years he spent praying, growing, and learning to worship amidst uncertainty.

“The season of waiting is not forever,” Rosado shared with Crosswalk Headlines. He touched on some life lessons he’d like to pass along to his fans. “There’s another side to this. There’s a point where a breakthrough happens. … There’s always a hero in that room fighting for them. He always does. He always does.”

“There’s always hope, there’s always something to look forward to. His name is Jesus. And He makes a way for us.”

Growing up in a Puerto Rican family in Queens, New York, Rosado eventually moved to Florida. His church singing led to his participation in American Idol, where he even had the chance to open for Andrea Bocelli. However, he later stepped away from the public eye to focus on raising his niece.

“I’ve been raising her since she was 2 years old. It was just me and my mom at home, and my mom had custody… that journey was really hard, but still beautiful,” he recalled. “I remember at 13 thinking, ‘God, when I grow up, if you help me… I’ll be her father and be there for her and make sure she never feels the pain she feels right now in her life again.’… She’s the best thing that ever happened to me.”

His new album is already getting attention, particularly the single Hero in the Room, which has garnered 1.8 million streams on Spotify and debuted at No. 39 on the Billboard Christian Airplay chart on November 1st. He mentioned that the song was inspired by the emotional and verbal abuse he endured as a child.

He receives messages regularly from fans who share how his music has helped them strengthen their relationship with God during tough times.

“I’ve experienced a lot of healing, and I’ve seen millions of people, and God used this song to heal them.”

He also noted that the song’s message resonates with a biblical promise: “The God who began a good thing in you can and will bring it to completion.”
