Jerry Jones asks to undergo paternity test after judge upholds decision in legal dispute with 27-year-old Alexandra Davis, who claims the Dallas Cowboys owner is her father I was forced to do so.
Dallas County Judge Sandra Jackson upheld the court’s decision after Jones appealed.
Davis claimed that Jones was her father in a 2022 lawsuit alleging that Alexandra became pregnant during Jones’ relationship with her mother, Cynthia Davis, in the mid-1990s.
Cynthia, who was married at the time of their relationship, reached a settlement with Jones in 1998, in which Jones agreed to provide full financial support unless he was identified as Alexandra’s father.
Alexandra does not believe she is bound by this agreement between Jones and her mother, and this has triggered a new lawsuit, seeking a way to legally prove that Jones is in fact the father. ing.
Her lawyer, Chris Hayes, called the judge’s decision forcing Jones to submit to a paternity test a “huge victory.”
“Alex is now in a position where he no longer has to hide his truth or live under the control of fear, and perhaps he will finally find peace. He will be given the freedom from other judges to follow the law. We hope that our families will receive similar benefits,” Hayes said in a statement.
At the hearing, Jones’ lawyer argued that Cynthia’s husband at the time of the alleged relationship was presumed to be the legal father.
This argument appears to have been rejected by the court. Jones, who married his wife Eugenia Jones in 1963, will now have to wait for a Jerry Springer Show-style announcement as to whether or not he is his father. .
Jones was born in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1945 and rose to power after purchasing the Cowboys in 1989.
He and his wife have three children. Stephen is his COO and director of player personnel for the Cowboys, Charlotte is the team’s executive vice president and chief brand officer, and Jerry Jones, his junior, is the team’s chief sales officer and marketing officer.
