Fox News host Jesse Watters criticized California's leadership in his opening monologue Thursday, questioning “who is in charge” in the response to the Los Angeles fires.
Jesse Waters: Newsom cut water utility budgets. He blocked the movement of water into Southern California and began destroying dams. He has not built any reservoirs. California last built a reservoir almost 50 years ago. Instead, we let billions of gallons of rainwater flow straight into the ocean. If we store rainwater, fire hydrants will never run out. Los Angeles ranks last in the West for rainwater conservation. This whole episode symbolizes liberalism. It doesn't build anything. It only destroys.
Gavin should say I'm responsible. I'm the governor. I'm working on it. Instead, he refuses to accept any responsibility… So who was responsible in the early days of the worst fire in Los Angeles history? Sounds like the White House. No one knows who is in charge there. This is very embarrassing. It's getting worse. This country has hit rock bottom. These are the leaders we voted for. It can't get any worse. The mayor cannot communicate. The governor can't supply water to the fire. But that's California politics.
…
People and businesses have been fleeing California for years. I understand why they have problems with drugs, crime, and homelessness. But if you're a wealthy California liberal, that doesn't affect you. Inflation is not serious. Immigrants will keep your lawn clean. Crime will not pass through your gates. You drive right by the homeless. Your money allows you to escape liberal governance. Until now. America is at a turning point. We don't have to live like this. We deserve better.
