Jet-setting, globetrotting Aaron Rodgers (no pun intended) seems to be everywhere, except for Gang Green’s mandatory minicamp earlier this month.
40 year old quarterback He attended a UFC fight on Saturday night in Las Vegas.It was his first public appearance since skipping minicamp.
This occurred after Rogers returned from a trip to Egypt. As reported by FS1’s “The Herd” Thursday in conversation with Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Rodgers’ former teammate with the Packers, and host Jason McIntyre.
Valdes-Scantling told MacIntyre he practiced with Rodgers in the Los Angeles area on Wednesday.
“Me and Aaron have been good friends since we were in Green Bay, and I reached out to him and told him I was going to L.A. and I said, ‘Let’s run some routes,'” said Valdes-Scantling, who signed a $4.5 million, one-year contract with the Bills in the offseason. “So we signed, and we went to high school and ran some routes together.
“It’s okay. It’s good.”
McIntyre responded with excitement.
“All New York media, back off,” he said. “Aaron Rodgers is back from Egypt! It’s no longer a secret!”
At the time, Robert Saleh called Rodgers’ absence from minicamp an “unexcused absence,” and rumors circulated that the quarterback was somewhere overseas.
But the next day, Saleh tried to defuse the brewing controversy.
“Aaron and I are on the same page,” Saleh said. “There’s no problem between us. [and me] Or a teammate. We dealt with that. [Tuesday]”… It’s more of an issue for everyone outside the building than it is for the people inside the building. That’s all.”
As for Saturday’s event, this won’t be Rogers’ first time on a UFC card.
Rogers attended UFC 302 at the Prudential Center in Newark on June 2, a fight that was also attended by former President Donald Trump.
Early reports said Mr Rogers, who was once Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate, insulted Mr Trump as he entered the arena.
However, Rodgers later posted the photo on Instagram. He was photographed shaking hands with President Trump at the event.
The highlight of UFC 303 will be the light heavyweight championship bout between Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka.
Other bouts include Brian Ortega vs Diego Lopez, Anthony Smith vs Roman Dolidze, Mayra Bueno Silva vs Macy Chiasson and Ian Machado Garry vs Michael Page.
