Jets achieve questionable milestone in defeat against Cowboys

The New York Jets faced a tough reality on Sunday, suffering a disappointing home defeat to the Dallas Cowboys. This loss marked their fifth straight, leaving them at 0-5 for the season. Head coach Aaron Glenn made his way back to the locker room, but it wasn’t just the loss that was notable—this game has cemented the Jets’ place in NFL history, as they became the first team to start a season 0-5 without any takeaways.

Following the game, it was highlighted that the Jets ranked 31st in points allowed and 23rd in total yards. Throughout the match, their defense failed to register any interceptions or recover fumbles from Dallas.

“That’s true. Well, I don’t really know if that’s true, but I do know this: we aren’t taking the ball away,” Glenn remarked after the loss. He elaborated that it’s not simply about giveaways; it’s fundamentally about their defense’s performance.

The Jets also seem to lack star players on defense. While Sauce Gardner is expected to be a lockdown cornerback, he was bested by Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens, who scored a crucial touchdown during the game.

It’s almost as if the Jets are a team that has potential—there’s definitely something there. But to actually taste victory, they need to reassess their game plan weekly and figure out how to shift from potential to performance.

Next, the Denver Broncos will come to town on Sunday, fresh off a victory against the Philadelphia Eagles. It’ll be interesting to see if the Jets can make any significant changes ahead of this matchup.
