Jets Seeking Real Victories After Close Losses

The Jets are finding some small wins, at least mentally. However, they are eager to transform those into actual victories.

Recently, they put up a fight against the Patriots and Ravens, although they ultimately came up short in both games. Keeping things close until the end, New York (2-9) faced tough competition and couldn’t pull off the upset.

This week, they’re up against a 4-7 Falcons team that’s relying on a backup quarterback. It feels like this matchup could be a bit more level, at least on paper.

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn is highlighting the importance of improvement, and it seems like the team has indeed made strides in a few key areas recently. He’s looking forward to seeing more progress in their performance.

“I’m eager to see how we can build on what’s been working and address what still needs fixing,” Glenn commented. His focus is on getting all three phases of the game aligned and preparing to win.

This matchup promises to be quite physical, and it might hinge on who controls the line of scrimmage.

Glenn noted that he wants to see more of the good aspects from Sunday’s game at MetLife Stadium, highlighting how important each phase is to finding success.

Interestingly, the Jets lead in rushing yards per game, reflecting improvements in their offensive line this season. Conversely, the Falcons have recently managed to restrict their last two opponents to under 100 rushing yards—quite a comeback after a staggering loss to the Colts where they allowed 323 rushing yards.

Meanwhile, on the flip side, Atlanta’s rushing attack, spearheaded by Bijan Robinson, will challenge a Jets defense that’s shown resilience against strong run games recently.

“If we can win the battle up front, it gives us a good shot at winning the game,” Glenn stated, noting that while the Falcons are formidable, they’re just another obstacle. The Jets know stopping Atlanta’s run game and defending against play-action passes will be critical for their success.

This game marks the first in a lighter stretch of games for the Jets, followed by matchups against the Dolphins, Jaguars, and Saints. The Jaguars might be the only potential playoff contender among them.

Ultimately, a moral victory could transform into something tangible. The Jets are hopeful for a better outcome this time around.
