New York Jets legend Nick Mangold criticized authorities on social media, frustrated by the lack of answers to confirmed drone sightings across New Jersey.
“So far[New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy]has done nothing about drones, just a series of empty phrases,” Mangold wrote on X on Thursday.
White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby addressed the situation at a Thursday press conference, saying, “The reported drone sightings pose a threat to national security, public safety, or have ties to a foreign country.” There is currently no evidence that there is.” . ”

“After reviewing available imagery, it appears that many of the reported sightings are actually legally operating manned aircraft. The U.S. Coast Guard is assisting New Jersey and “We have confirmed that there is no evidence of human flight.”And importantly, there have been no reported or confirmed sightings of drones in restricted airspace. ”
However, Mr Mangold was not satisfied with Mr Kirby's response and took to social media to express his displeasure.
“After seeing this with my own eyes and being lied to to my face, I wonder why anyone else lies so easily. How could something like this happen to us?” Are you leaving it alone?!” Mangold posted to X.

One of Mangold's old teammates, Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is now an analyst on Thursday Night Football, responded to one of his posts asking for an update.
“Hi Nick, long-time listeners and first-time callers…can you tell us something?? It seems controversial…are the drones still there? How long have they been? Are you there? Any guesses as to what they are?” posted Ms. Fitzpatrick.
“We're being told by the government that there are some pretty large drones flying in the skies over New Jersey, but we can't actually see anything,” Mangold answered in part. “Those of us who have lived here for a long time know about normal air traffic, but this is not normal. After experiencing a fly fly directly over my head, I I'm in charge of the case now. I don't like being lied to.”
